How to Keep your skin healthy under that mask… Due to Covid-19, it is now mandatory to wear a mask in public but this has caused all kinds of skin issues for both teens and adults! Mandatory masks will most likely be in place for the near future so here is some tips, tricks and products that WILL help you combat those skin issues!
“Maskne”
What is Maskne? Maskne is the acne or spots that seem to pop up around the chin, jaw and mouth area due to the mask. Wearing a mask can cause dirt, debris, oils and sweat to collect underneath it. Since wearing a mask is mandatory and necessary, we have to find other ways to reduce its effects on your skin.
Tips on How to Keep your skin healthy:
- Continue with your Skin care routine, Morning and night
- DOUBLE CLEANSE! Cleanse once with an oil based cleanser (Clear Cleanse) to wash away all oil based products like oil/sebum, oil based makeup products etc. Complete a second cleanse with a water based cleanser (Balancing or Purifying) to wash away any water based products like sweat, water based makeup products etc.
- Exfoliate 2-3 times a week
- Continue to see your esthetician for regular facials every 4-6 weeks
- Replace your disposable mask or wash your reusable mask after every use
- Use toner or makeup remover to clean any dirt, debris, oils or sweat off of the skin around and under the mask throughout the day
- Use the correct product line for you, this can be confirmed by your esthetician during your regular facials (for exp. Balancing line for clients who have normal/ combination skin that has broken out due to masks)
- Avoid wearing makeup under the mask

Skin Care Steps:
Step 1.
First Cleanse- Clear Cleanse: Clear Cleanse is an oil based cleanser that will wash away any oil based products from the skin. Clear cleanse is Argan Oil based which is rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acid and will cleanse the skin without drying it out.
Step 2.
Second Cleanse- Balancing or Purifying Cleanser: Cleansing with a water based cleanser is important to wash away any water based products from the skin.
Step 3.
Exfoliate- an Exfoliant should be used 2-3 times a week. Eve Taylor has both a mechanical exfoliant and a chemical exfoliant that can be used at home. The two exfoliants are Bamboo exfoliating scrub and the Micro-fine exfoliant. The Bamboo is a mechanical exfoliant due to the micro bamboo beads in it. Using light circular motions, the micro beads buff and polish the skin. The Micro-Fine is a chemical exfoliant due to the Pineapple and Papaya Enzymes that break down the dead skin to reveal smooth, fresh skin.
Step 4.
Purifying Spot Gel– This is a very effective spot gel treatment that combats bacteria causing breakouts and clearing skin of blemishes. It has Tea tree oil, Lavender and Lemongrass which provide powerful antibacterial properties while soothing redness and irritation.
Step 5.
Toner- Balancing or Purifying toner: Toner helps to hydrate, tonify, maintain skins texture and prepares the skin for Moisturizer
Step 6.
Moisturizer or Lotion: Balancing or Purifying Moisturizer or Lotion. Moisturizer tends to be a medium weight texture that provides vital moisture and hydration to the skin. Lotion tends to be a more light weight texture that provides hydration and protection to the skin. Lotion is best for under makeup.
