We’re Re-Opening Friday June 12

We finally got the all clear from the Government of Ontario to re-open our doors for the majority of our services. Massage Therapy opened at the end of May and the opening has gone VERY well despite Covid adjustments.

The list below is what’s new and it may sound scary but don’t worry we’ve always been way ahead of all requirements and we’re doing our very best to make sure this doesn’t hamper your amazing spa experience with Urban.

Here’s What’s New:

  1. Upon arrival for your reservation, you simply need to text us and we’ll let you know when to come in 🙂
  2. We are limiting the number of people on each floor in order to respect social distancing
  3. The majority of our services are in private treatment rooms
  4. Those services in common areas (mani/pedi) we have adjusted to ensure social distancing
  5. All guests and providers need to wear a mask during services
  6. We are following 5 sector specific guidelines (retail, cashier, curbside pickup, personal care services and laundry)
  7. Our entire team has gone through additional Covid training
  8. As per Government requirements, all guests and team will be pre-screened at the time of booking, before entering the building and before your service begins
  9. We have created sanitation stations throughout the spa
  10. As per Government requirements, we have eliminated food and beverage services and no outside food or beverage containers can enter the spa

Here’s What You Need To Know About Booking At This Time:

  1. We are actively working with our members to schedule their reservations and then working with guests who’s reservations were affected by the closure
  2.  We currently have a wait list and will be working through that list in the next few days. If you want to get on the wait list (first come first served), please email booknow@urbanspapeterborough.com or text us 705-741-1212
  3. We will re-activate online booking after we’ve worked through all of the above

Tips To Get In Sooner:

As you can imagine, we have thousands of guests looking for reservations so here are a few tips on how you can get in sooner:

  1. Don’t be picky 🙂
  2. We know you have your favourite providers but the entire team is awesome and it may be time to try someone new
  3. We know you have your favourite times and days of the week but that may create a longer wait for you. Let’s be adventurous if your schedule allows
  4. Instead of booking a full spa day, we may be able to fit you in sooner if we can create multiple reservations (ie: pick your most urgent requirements LOL)
  5. We typically love to serve friends and family who like to reserve at the same time but it will be extra tough to create multiple reservations so we recommend you make it a solo trip (not forever, just for now)

Services We Are Unable To Perform At This Time (per Government mandate):

  1. Any services performed to the face such as facials, facial hair grooming, eye brow grooming, lash extensions and makeup.

Mother’s Day Has Arrived – We Can Help!

With all things Corona Virus and COVID19 it kind of feels like Mother’s Day has snuck up on us this year. There are a few things to consider because COVID19 has complicated Mother’s Day.

COVID19 Product Packages Now Available

We miss you all terribly. It’s been almost a month since The Urban Spa closed its doors for COVID19 quarantine and it hasn’t been easy for anyone. We sincerely hope you are hanging in there and when it is safe to do so, we will be there to serve you and get everyone looking & feeling better than ever!

Now that we know we will be under quarantine until mid May (almost another month) we have put together some packages to help our amazing guests. Below you will find pre-created packages of products and also you can also custom curate your own package.

We’re offering daily pre-arranged FREE curb-side pick up or FREE delivery (for orders over $30). We have a limited number of products given COVID19 and we’re not sure about re-ordering given supply chain challenges.

Covid19 Update – Normal Operation

The Urban Spa in Peterborough is continuing normal operations with normal business hours.

We truly hope you are well in this stressful time. At heart, our spa family’s priority has always been to provide you and your family with a safe space where you feel free to escape the pressures of day-to-day life and focus on you.

We would like to take this opportunity to share with you just some of the many preventative measures we are implementing to create an environment that is safe and secure for everyone.

What we are doing at The Urban Spa:

1- Cleanliness: First, we are taking extra measures with our cleaning protocols as well as modifying our experiences in accordance with the changing medical precautions. The Urban Spa uses a hospital grade chemo sterilant and also any other tool that cannot be sterilized goes home with you. For example, our nail files, foot paddles for chalice removal, buffers, that all goes home with you or is disposed of, never being reused. This has been our policy since day 1. We have also increased the frequency with which we sanitize all surfaces that come in contact with guests such door handles, counters, shelves, chairs, etc.

2- Access to the spa: We are closely monitoring guests and our team alike for symptoms. Anyone who has symptoms or has come into contact with someone who is unwell will be asked to return home, thus creating a safe environment for all.

3- Rescheduling Protocol: In true Urban fashion we are going above and beyond to re-schedule any clients that are not able to  make their reservation. We continue to request for 24 hours notice for cancellations. We’re implementing a buddy-system where you can send a buddy on your behalf if you prefer.

4- Monitoring: We are actively monitoring the health agencies and government reports and will continue to keep you all abreast of updates via our blog and our social media.

It is in these times of stress that we must ensure that we stay calm and keep on. We will get through this, together.

007 Anniversary Party Postponed – Sorry

Hi everyone, we are really sad to report that we will need to postpone our 007 Anniversary Party. With the uncertainties around coronavirus (COVID-19) we feel it’s most prudent to postpone our anniversary festivities previously planned at The Junction Nightclub for April 2. Other large gatherings have been affected due to the virus and we feel it’s the safest things to do at this time.
 
However, The Urban Spa is operating normally with regular business hours to serve our guests as we have done for the past seven years. The Urban Spa uses a hospital grade chemo sterilant and also any other tool that cannot be sterilized goes home with you. For example, our nail files, foot paddles for chalice removal, buffers, that all goes home with you or is disposed of, never being reused. This has been our policy since day 1. We have also increased the frequency with which we sanitize all surfaces that come in contact with guests such door handles, counters, shelves, chairs, etc.
 
We still plan to celebrate our seven-year anniversary in style. We’ll be announcing our Lucky Draw promotion shortly to celebrate Peterborough’s Irish roots and your amazingness.
