The long days, warm weather and sunshine always bring back a sense of sweet nostalgia. Memories of summer vacation, days at the beach, sun-kissed skin and enjoying cold treats on a hot day. Our Summer Bliss essential oil blend conjures up these feelings, with mandarin, sweet orange and bergamot providing a bright and cheerful citrus note, while calming benzoin anchors it with a rich sweetness, reminiscent of vanilla. Together, these oils have a wonderfully uplifting effect, creating a truly blissful experience.
With all the sunshine and warm days, summer brightens our moods and lifts our spirits, which we reflected in our Summer Bliss blend. However as much as we love summer, it can create unique beauty concerns caused by the sun, chlorine and heat. From dry skin and nails to parched hair, we’ve got you covered. Heated Bamboo Massage (60 or 90 minutes) – Heated bamboo is used to roll and knead away aches and pains from stress and repetitive movements. This is a great way to experience similar benefits to a Deep Tissue Massage without the soreness. Direct heat relaxes muscles without discomfort and allows him to unwind.

Local home bakery Bevy’s Cupcakes is **Popping Up** to raise money with The Urban Spa for the Peterborough Humane Society.
National Cupcake Day™ is the most delicious way to show your support for animals in need of your help!
All over Canada, citizens bake delicious treats which they then share for a donation to your SPCA or Humane Society of choice. It’s a super fun and easy way to “bake a difference” for the animals in your community who need you most.
Bev, a longtime friend of The Urban Spa and owner of Bevy’s Cupcakes, has graciously offered to donate her delicious cupcakes made with her special homemade buttercream to The Urban Paw in support of this wonderful cause. If you have been to any of our events in the past, you are probably already aware of her work. If not, trust us! You’re going to want one of these cupcakes!
Pop into The Urban Spa February 26th from 5PM to 9PM to get your Pawprint 🐾 Snickerdoodle Cupcake and we will donate 100% of all monies raised to our local Humane Society!!!

Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils (naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants) to help promote physical and psychological well-being.
The essential oils used in aromatherapy come from the distillation of the leaves, wood, petals, buds, needles, bark or roots of aromatic botanicals such as lavender, rosemary, cedarwood, rose, peppermint, and cypress. While most essential oils are water or hydro distilled, citrus essential oils are either cold pressed or steam distilled from the rinds (peels) of citrus fruits.
The most common use of essential oils currently is to diffuse them in your home. However, there’s a new way that is rapidly growing in popularity; essential oil diffuser necklaces.
While essential oils are too concentrated for use directly on the skin when undiluted, one way to get the benefits of your favourite blend everywhere you go is to put a few drops of your favourite essential oil on to the diffuser pad in this necklace and you will not only smell great but look great! And don’t worry, once you use a pad for one oil, you are not stuck using only that same scent. Over time the oil will evaporate, at which time you can add more, or switch it up to a new blend.
