One of our RMTs has had the honour of being voted by the public to be Peterborough’s best RMT in the Peterborough This Week Business awards. To top that off, the whole Urban Spa team was also honoured as one of the top three spas in Peterborough last year. These awards were granted because of our guests voting for us and that truly is an honour.

Stuart Bell, Registered Massage Therapist: ” I was born and raised in Belleville. I grew up with two older sisters who were always asking me rub their back or give them a massage. My father also worked in a factory and would come home extremely tired and with a sore back which I would always try and help with. Since I was helping my family with it, I decided that I would go learn how to do it properly and help out more than just my family. I moved to Peterborough to go to Fleming College and I graduated the 3 year program. I am now starting my career with an amazing team at The Urban Spa and I can’t wait to help the Peterborough public!”
Jessica Pilon, Registered Massage Therapist: “I graduated in 2007 from Fleming College and started right into the spa industry in Cobourg. It wasn’t long at all before I fell in love with the setting. I truly enjoy making people relaxed and ease away their stress, especially in today’s high pressure world. I spent many years in my private practice at a spa in Bridgenorth and then transitioned to the clinical setting at a chiropractic office. My love for the spa industry prevailed and I was drawn back to the essence of the spa. I fell into fitness a few years ago and now love exercising and promoting healthy living. I enjoy guiding and helping people to healthier way of living, mind, body and spirit.”
Cole Leptick, RMT: Peterborough has been my home for the past 10 years and I could not imagine living anywhere else. I took a chance and left my home town in Northern Manitoba in order to find myself, I ended up finding more than I could have imagined.
My greatest accomplishments have been completing the Massage Therapy Program and becoming a Registered Massage Therapist. It has been an honour to serve Peterborough and the Kawarthas for 4 out of my 5 years of practice. I love working with my clients in helping them achieve their health goals. I am a firm believer in the power of touch. Living in this fast-paced world we often forget about self care when it is in fact one of the most important keys to a healthy life style.
Jennie Persson, RMT: After 6 months of research and careful consideration, we have found that very special person. Help us welcome Jennie Persson, RMT! We love her positive outlook on life and her awesome energy. When you get to know Jennie AKA: “Peas” you will see how she’s a loving and kind person that wants to make a difference. This is why she became a Registered Massage Therapist in Peterborough. She wants to help people and she loves not only treating clients and having them overcome injuries but making them forget about their stress.

Sarah is delighted to be joining the growing team at The Urban Spa as a Guest Reservation Specialist. A Peterborough girl born and raised, Sarah has always kept busy volunteering in community theatre with groups like Art for Awareness, the Peterborough Theatre Guild, St. James Players and more. She’s been teaching high school for several years now, and is currently in her second year teaching Drama and Musical Theatre at Thomas A. Stewart. Sarah cannot wait to start planning her next trip, having travelling most recently to New York City, Bermuda, California, Walt Disney World and the UK. Although she’s new to the spa industry, Sarah is excited to start learning with the incredible team at The Urban spa, and get to know all of the amazing clients so that she can help make their experience the best it can be.
